Our Nursery

The goal of our preschool area is to create a fun, safe, and God centered environment that emphasizes the teachings of the bible in all aspects. We aim to glorify God with our time in the nursery through lessons, songs, and play. We will work together with parents to help the children of RPBC to grow in their faith, experienece God’s love, and build a strong biblical foundation for a lifetime walk with our Lord and Savior.

Key principals

  • Love and kindness (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)

  • Biblical teachings in every thing we do (Deuteronomy 11:19)

  • The gospel is for everyone - especially children (Luke 18:16)

  • Support parents to continue teaching the word at home (Proverbs 22:6)

Parent Commissioning

What is a parent commissioning?

Parent Commissioning is a time when parents publicly commit to raising their children to know and follow God. During this special moment in our service, the church will pray over parents and their children as they accept the responsibility God has given them.

Scripture reminds us of the important role parents have in their children’s spiritual lives.

  • Ephesians 6:4 instructs parents to raise their children in the training and instruction of the Lord.

  • Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to “train up a child in the way he should go.”

  • Deuteronomy 6:7 teaches that we should diligently teach God’s truth to our children throughout everyday life.

Because parents are the first and most important influence in their children’s faith, our church wants to come alongside families in prayer and encouragement as they take on this vital calling.

Why Parent Commissioning instead of Baby Dedication?

Parent Commissioning and Baby Dedication share similar purposes, and neither is better or worse than the other.

The difference is simply the emphasis.

Baby dedication often focuses primarily on dedicating the child to God.

Parent Commissioning places a stronger focus on the responsibility and commitment of the parents to raise their children in a Christ-centered home. It recognizes that parents play the primary role in guiding their child’s faith journey.

Through this commissioning, the church also commits to supporting, encouraging, and praying for families as they raise the next generation to know and love God.

Parents sign this statement

By participating in Parent Commissioning, I acknowledge that this child is a gift of God and give thanks for God’s blessing. As a follower of Jesus, I commit to put God first in our home, submitting to His authority in every area of life. I commit to raising this child in the ways of God and in the local church, making every effort for my child to understand the gift of salvation in Jesus. I commit to modeling forgiveness and grace to my child. I promise to discipline my child according to the Word of God. I promise to disciple my child, understanding it is my role and responsibility as a parent to do so.

Volunteers

Ready to Make a Difference?

We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers who make our nursery’s extended care time possible. Your time and support allow parents to fully engage in worship, knowing their children are in safe, loving hands. Below is the Extended Care Volunteer Calendar so you can see where and when you are scheduled.
